The technology war has led to some of the greatest discoveries in the history of mankind, for instance the one between Thomas Edison and Nikola Telsa.

In 1884 world famous inventor, welcomed a brilliant engineer named Nikola Telsa from Serbia to his New York office.At first Telsa has been working on direct current (DC) in Edison’s office for few years.But Telsa had conceived a different idea using alternating current (AC), which could transmit large amount of power over long distances.Edison dismissed the idea as a waste of time.Tesla tried to convince Edison by designing various products but nothing changed Edison’s mind.Hell hath no fury like a man scorned. Tesla quit.He joined the rival titan George Westinghouse.And the war began.

Edison started public demonstrations to discredit AC power by electrocuting dogs,cows and even an elephant.But then tried his own hand in the business by using the technology(AC) on electrocuting chair, which turned a failure because it nearly took 8 minutes and 2 attempts-gruesome affair.Westinghouse responded saying, ”They could have done it better with an ax”.Ultimately Telsa won the biggest battle in corporate history.

Bill Gates Vs Steve Jobs

Founded in 1976 and 1975, Apple and Microsoft are two of the worlds leading brands whose rivalries have been the talk for decades.

Jobs,“Bill is unimaginative and has never invented anything”.

Gates,“What I can’t figure out is why(jobs) is even trying to be the CEO of Apple. He can never win”

Samsung Vs Apple

The battle between Apple and Samsung is not an infamous one.The intensity has never been this high, because both the firms have been releasing new phones back to back putting them in a neck to neck battle.

All hell broke loose when Samsung enrolled an ad saying “Apple Eater”

Samsung further amplified the message with the Super Bowl spot.

Apple Vs IBM

Apple and IBM are better known as the frenemies of the industry.It all started back in 1981 when Apple took out a rather mocking ad to welcome IBM PC and the rest is history.

Jobs,“If, for some reason, we make a mistake and IBM wins, my personal feeling is that we are going to enter computer dark ages for the next 20 years”.

Although both the firms are lead by industry legends,both have very less in common other than the fact that they both were inspired by callow entrepreneur ever since company came into existence.

Michael Dell,” If I was the CEO of Apple, I would shut it down and give the money back to shareholders”.

Jobs,” Apple and Dell are the only ones in the industry making money. They make it by being wal-mart, we make it by innovation.

Oracle Vs Microsoft

Oracle’s CEO, Larry Ellison got stuck in the Microsoft storm in the late 90’s and even  offered to hire a contractor to ship their garbage to Redmount (Microsoft Headquarters) because of the company’s PR practice.

These rivalries on the positive side has helped in the tremendous  growth in the technology industry excluding all the drama.
