Today we felt it could be best to introduce you to 11 greatest entrepreneurs of our World. Why I wrote it as our world is because these 11 are the present days dynamic leaders and most of them are still alive!

Be inspired and become your own inspiration with the story of such energetic firebrands who simply would never give up no matter what, unless they saw their everyday goals done!

1. Walt Disney

  • Who would have ever thought that a farm boy who drew cartoons of the neighbors horse that too for fun would grow to become the great Disney.
  • Do you know that when he was older, he was rejected by a newspaper company as a cartoonist, and instead worked as an advertiser creating magazine and newspaper ads in a art studio?
  • Today that rejected cartoonists brand stands tallest at net worth of $ 179.5 billion.
  • Then he got promoted into the commercials dept. where he thought of his earlier goal to become an animator, which led to the starting his own animation company.
  • Disneys first creation was Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, however as he was working under contract at the time the character was officially owned by Universal Pictures.
  • His famous Mickey Mouse came into being after he was fired from Universal Pictures!
  • What followed was the wild success of his animation company, and since he set another new goal he went on to create the biggest and greatest theme park ever seen. He once informed his work friend, “I want it to look like nothing else in the world.”
  • He is known as the biggest entertainment moguls of all-time, due to his commitment and discipline towards his vision, Disney is undoubtedly a star among entrepreneurs.

2.Oprah Winfrey

  • Well Oprah Winfrey is the surprise business entrepreneur who shocked the world by going from rags to riches in quick pace, thanks to the steely resolve.
  • The richest African American of the 21 century, with a net worth of over $3 billion.
  • Unbelievable fact about her is that she was the child of a teen housemaid and grew in absolute poverty!
  • Oprah was verbally abused at school since she wore dresses made from potato sacks, that’s how rough her start was.
  • A victim of sexual abuse by her own family members, she narrated this sad chapter to TV viewers years later during a special episode of her show.
  • First big break came as a job as a gig in the local black radio station, after studio managers were impressed by the energetic spirit and oratory skills that moved Oprahs ranks even up, to other bigger radio stations, soon she happen to appear on TV when destiny and determination met finally.
  • Robert Ebert fascinated by Oprah convinces her to sign the first deal to launch The Oprah Winfrey Show, and what followed was pure magical TV history.

3. J.K. Rowling

  • Fans of Harry Potter will find it amusing that though J.K. Rowling  is their favorite author of the beloved Harry Potter book series, she was a poor person procrastinating about her ‘potent’ novel in a tiny restaurant.
  • What is even more puzzling is that J.K. Rowling was poor and was struggling to make ends meet surviving only on welfare while being a single mother, before her famous book series placed a spell on her readers.

4. Bill Gates

  • Bill Gates has a net worth estimated to be over $79 billion making him undoubtedly the richest man in the world, and Gates is one of the most famous entrepreneurs of our era.
  • The title of “world’s wealthiest individual” has been held by him for 16 of the past 21 years.
  • He is the co-founder of the world’s biggest PC software company, Microsoft.
  • Gates was one of the main figures of the personal computer revolution.
  •  As a child he placed an interest in computer programming and utilized all of his free time on  the teletype terminal computer at his school, building programs.
  • He had a goal and based on it created Microsoft developing the still popular Windows operating system.
  • Gates like many other famous entrepreneurs, is renowned for his philanthropic activities, giving away extremely large amounts of money for scientific developments and charitable organizations.
  • Establishes in 2000 the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, a private philanthropic foundation dedicated to reducing poverty, enhancing health care, improving education opportunities, and providing access to technology worldwide.
  • Gates individually has donated over $28 billion to the foundation and continues to build it further.

5. John Paul DeJoria

  • Though now he’s known for his famous Paul Mitchell hair products and for Patron Tequila, John Paul DeJoria was at the bottom when starting off.
  • Do you know that he being born to German and Italian parents first-generation American, DeJoria , he was sent to live in a L.A. foster home, where he also spent time as a gangster in a street gang.
    When he first created John Paul Mitchell Systems, he was selling his hair products door to door while living out of his car.
  • Well all of that eventually paid off, today John Paul Mitchell Systems makes a revenue of over $900 million a year.
  • John Paul DeJoria proved that things sure have to get much worse before they ever get better.
