“Let Your Power Roar”-Here are 6 rules to improve your executive presence

What is executive presence?

The word has been associated with leadership over the past several years.

Some attributes that triggers executive presence are

  • Catalyzing others actions.
  • Command attention.
  • Project professionalistic aura.

Some people possess the aura naturally, but that doesn’t mean others cannot. Following these rules one can improve, whatever may be their talent for leadership.

Lets check out the 6 rules:

  • Maintain your Authenticity:
Find your strength and improve it.Experiment within your strengths but also work on your weak areas parallel y. Leadership does not have to be of one type. A major part of developing a strong executive presence is by being aware of the ones strengths and weakness. Leadership comes in many forms like say for example, some people can run meetings well, some are excellent speakers, some can create great ideas. Find a form of leadership that best suits you and your strength.

  • Improve body language:
Your body language speaks louder than words. It is one of the most powerful tools for communication, hence it must not be neglected. Become aware of your body and the signals you send via various postures and positions. Practice your moments. Make eye contact while you speak. Be confident but not over confident. Pay more attention to conversations. Be interested. Remember even smallest of moments count.

  • Speak confidently:
Speaking confidently is not just about dominating opportunities it also means being self confident. Try using “I will” instead of “I may”. This dosen’t mean that you should always dive head on into everything but learning to be direct and specific can help you improve your habits in maintaining a steady pace.
  • Be willing to share both the positives and negatives:
Leadership comes along with success and failures. Good leader is one that wills to share the fame at good times as well as blame if things turn out bad.A leader never hides.
  • Be the Expert:
When you are in a position to lead, you should always know what you are talking about, sounding uneducated brings negative impact on the ways on how others perceive you. Be open to growth, work to be an expert, ”Less is never more” in this case. Only if you are an expert in your field, you would have the confidence to be broadcast to others that you can be trusted with your decisions.

Developing these qualities can help you both in real life as well as work life. Always have a positive outlook and never give up. Hopefully these tips will help you make a difference.
