Tips for writing compelling presentations

Every member in the audience has one question in the mind all the time. They need to know what is in store for them or the famous (WIIFM) What’s In It For Me. This is the factor that they keep under consideration while attending presentations.

Not only this particular audience, humans in general love rewards after we take their time. We are used to getting something from others in exchange for our job or effort.

Formula:

Remember every presentation needs to answer ‘So what?’ and that reply should invariably answer and explain what is now there for the audience. That decides your success in compelling the audience.

If the writing must be compelling there must be something inviting to their eyes first and later something that maintains that temptation, and intrigues them completely or at least partially.

To be successful as a presenter, ask yourself ‘what is there in it?,’ and then develop all aspects of your presentation considering this chief factor ‘what is there in it.’ Remove any extra content that will never add value for the audience by clearly explaining the overall message of your presentation and providing no more than three supporting points.

Let us imagine an interesting formula to the whole process with the first step as SUBJECT and the next step as RESULT and last step as REWARD.

This formula is safe where ‘what is there in it’ is answered by the subject, which delivers result that is ‘audience is captivated’ and next is the reward for that time of the audience (and the audience gets a rewarding time).

View:

Where is it headed to? Your slides must have one main topic. By keeping a central point you get all the audience who were searching for that particular ‘niche.’

Topic:

You must decrease the subjects that you want to explore in the slides. Too many subjects can be confusing.

This basic plan of view, topic and formula can deliver you your audience and they in turn get to be part of a resourceful meeting from which they get new incites in life and work plus they should fondly cherish the whole presentation.
